| Month of April 2009 California Correctional Peace Officers Association (CCPOA)is sponsoring the 20th Annual Victims' "March On The Capitol"... When: Wednesday, April 29, 2009, The Office for Victims of Crime (O.V.C.) a component of the US Department of Justice was created in 1983...Victims Of Crime Act (VOCA) OF 1984 ( 42 U.S.C 10601) is one of five bureaus within the Office of Justice Programs... O.V.C's mission is to promote victim rights, honor crime victims and those who advocate on their behalf... Wherein 2009, thousands of people are expected to be in attendance: Special Olympians, government agencies, advocates, family members of homicide victims and Hollywood actors... The program will consist of speeches and opportunities to view murals, pictures, awards and quilts dedicated to crime victims... The thought-provoking SAVOY song will be the anthem, it was written by Oakland diamond producer Jay Logan... A melodic tribute to honor Jay's 14 year old slain son Jaee Miquel Logan... The event is a day long spiritual retreat... |
